Solon

Solon is a convenient, family-friendly suburb know for its impressive tax base, excellent schools, and easy highway access. Due to a comprehensive zoning plan, Solon has an impressive commercial and industrial base. Residential streets are are insulated from these areas, and residents enjoy low taxes and quiet side streets.

Solon residents have easy access to centrally located shopping pockets and extensive parks and recreation opportunities. With over 600 acres of city parks and recreational areas, no resident is farther than about a five-minute drive to a public park. And community offerings include education programs, a pool, babysitting, a gym, summer camps, and more.


Located adjacent to Solon Community Park, the Solon Branch of they Cuyahoga County Public Library offers community meeting spaces, public computer stations, and dedicated areas for children and teens.


The Solon Center for the Arts offers classes in theater, art, dance, and private music lessons. Gallery exhibitions, monthly events, theatrical productions, and orchestral performances are also enjoyed by residents.


The city offers a variety of community events. The Solon Home Days is probably is most well known event. It offers three days of fun festival activities.

An abundance of new homes in the southern part of Solon (south of Rte. 422) are available for those who prefer newly-built homes, while the northern end of town consists of older homes on more established streets.


The majority of students attend Solon City Schools, which are excellent and always rated among the top five in Cuyahoga County. U.S. News & World Report ranks Solon High School 7th in the state. Some students living in the northwest corner of Solon attend Orange Schools.
