Orange Village

Neighborhoods and Suburbs

Orange Village

More commonly referred to simply as Orange, this mostly residential community feels like a much larger suburb due to its a great location near the excellent amenities of surrounding cities and short distance to easy highway access. It occupies 3.5 square miles and is bounded on the north by Woodmere, on the east by Moreland Hills, on the west by Warrensville Heights, and on the south by Solon.

Community

Orange is known as “a community for all generations.” It is a diverse suburb with a strong sense of community generated through its popular school system and unique community volunteer opportunities.

The Orange C.A.R.E.S. program provides a way for residents to easily volunteer as a “helping hand” to other Orange Village residents. The Orange Area Service Committee is a non-profit organization committed to helping individuals, families, and children residing within the Orange School District that are in emergency situations and have unmet basic needs.

Special events occur each year and include events like concerts at Village Hall in the summer and Party in the Park.

Housing

Housing stock includes small country cottages, close knit side-walked neighborhoods, new contemporary developments, and condominiums for empty nesters.

Amenities

While mostly residential, Orange is home to some unique amenities.

Part of the Orange City School District, the Orange Art Center is open to all. The organization has welcomed students of all ages and skill levels from neighborhoods throughout Greater Cleveland/Akron into the Orange community for more than 35 years. The Center includes inviting and inspiring studios for four departments: Painting + Drawing, Ceramics, Fine Jewelry, and Young Artists.

Orange is home to Hiram House Camp. Founded in 1896, it is the oldest camp in Ohio and one of the first camps in the United States. For over a century it has been in continuous operation, enriching the lives of generations of children through camping.

Pinecrest, one of Cleveland’s newest lifestyle centers offering dining, shopping, and fitness opportunities, is located in Orange and is a destination for both residents and visitors alike.

Part of Chagrin Highlands, a 630-acre multiuse property with offices, medical facilities, hotels, and retail, lies within Orange. This corporate park is removed from the residential neighborhoods of Orange but close enough to be very convenient.

Parks and Recreation

Orange prides itself on its beautiful 60+ acres of community parks and great recreational facilities and programming through Orange Community Education & Recreation. Its offerings include a dog park, community garden, pickleball courts, a sledding hill, playgrounds, a chipping green, athletic fields, aquatic center, camps, and more.

Libraries

Residents enjoy the Orange Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library located in nearby Pepper Pike. The branch offers a cozy fireplace reading area, community meeting spaces, and an interactive children’s area.

Schools

Orange shares an excellent school system with contiguous suburbs: Hunting Valley, Moreland Hills, Pepper Pike, Woodmere, and portions of Solon and Warrensville Heights. Orange Schools consistently rank in the top ten in Cuyahoga County.
