Hinckley Township

Located in Medina County, Hinckley Township is a beautiful country township offering small town life and an array of community groups and sprawling parks. Its town motto is “Small Town, Big Hearts.”

In the township, you will find a mixture of older rural home sites, newer single-family homes, and small planned developments.


Students living in Hinckley are served both by Highland Local Schools and Brunswick City School District.


Hinckley has several parks. Bronger’s Park contains a historic cabin, half mile walking trail, small lake, pavilion, playground, and fire pit. There are several youth sports fields. And Hinckley is home to the Cleveland Metroparks Hinckley Reservation, which is know for its 90-acre Hinckley Lake enjoyed by fishermen and paddle sports enthusiasts.


Hinckley residents are involved in a variety of community events and endeavors. The community garden and Hinckley Historical Society are township attractions. The locals and thousands of visitors enjoy Buzzard Day. On March 15 of every year, buzzards arrive in large flocks in the township, as if on a very exact biological clock. Hinckley began celebrating the arrival of the birds in 1957, and today as many as 50,000 visitors visit witness the event.
