Bay Village

Primarily a residential community, Bay Village sits on the shores of Lake Erie just 19 miles west of downtown Cleveland. It offers beautiful tree-lined streets and well-maintained homes ranging from starter bungalows to multi-million dollar mansions on the lake.

In 2012, Family Circle Magazine ranked Bay Village as one of the “10 Best Towns for Families.”

Incorporated in 1903, the village contains one of Cleveland’s prettiest public beaches, Huntington Beach, which was built on land that was donated to the Cleveland Metroparks system by John Huntington, one of the founders of the Standard Oil Company (now BP).

Bay Village is convenient to the east/west I-90 freeway and the popular west side lifestyle center Crocker Park.

The community is home to an active parks and recreation department and the Lake Erie Science & Nature Center. And BAYarts offers arts education for children, adults, and groups and is best known for its Thursday Markets that include a lively farmers market, vendors, food trucks, and outdoor movies for a easy place to gather with friends and family.

Residents enjoy the recently opened Bay Village Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. This beautiful building features a rooftop terrace with a view of Lake Erie, cozy fireplace seating, an interactive children’s play, learn and grow space, study rooms, public meetings spaces, and an Innovation Center where visitors may access 3D printing and a variety of other technologies.

Many homes are within walking distance of the public schools (with many students biking to school), grocery stores, restaurants, and public parks. The Bay Village City School District is consistently ranked among the top 15 in Cuyahoga County.
