Peninsula
A small, quaint town with just 500 residents, Peninsula is tucked into the hills where the Cuyahoga River bends sharply to form a ‘peninsula.’ This village sits in the heart of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which is the 10th most visited national park in the country. Its location on the Cuyahoga River made this town a bustling canal boat stop in the mid-1800's. Peninsula prospered with the creation of the Ohio and Erie Canal and the Valley Railroad.

Today, Peninsula is a well-preserved mid-19th-century town with historic Greek Revival style architecture and interesting shops full of art and collectibles. Bikers and hikers flock to Peninsula restaurants, as the Ohio and Erie Towpath Trail (where donkeys once pulled canal boats along the Cuyahoga River) runs just west of downtown. Blossom Music Center, the summer home of the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra, is located on the town’s outskirts and provides another source of tourism for this quaint village.
