Chardon

Chardon, the county seat of Geauga County, is widely recognized as the center of Ohio’s maple syrup industry and is the epicenter of the snowbelt in NE Ohio. Home to the Geauga County Maple Festival, the city annually celebrates its rich history of this locally produced product as much as it embraces its snowy reputation (averaging over 100 inches of snow a year) with the annual WinterFest celebration.

Chardon’s City Square, anchored by the county courthouse, is at the intersections of Rte. 6 and Rte. 44 and is the shopping and gathering spot for locals with retail shops, a public library, and a variety of eateries all within walking distance. Quiet residential neighborhoods include well-kept century homes.
